We are Cardano evangelists and enthusiastic participants. Our running of a node is part of the support to decentralize and secure the network. By delegating to us you are helping to secure the network even further and get rewarded with ADA for staking your Cardano.

Setup

We choose top tier VPS providers. Moreover we distribute our servers across three top tier cloud providers that include the Amazon web services, Digital Ocean and Linode. Each of our servers include powerful resources and high network latency. We choose to use servers that do not have CPUs older than 3 years since the performance of our operations depends on the latest technology architecture. Using top tier cloud service providers we know we are getting the fastest network connections possible.

We then have at least two or more operations to monitor our production and relay servers with a further two or more redundant nodes waiting to take over as backups if any of our production or relay nodes fail for whatever reason.

At the time of writing this we are operating six servers. That is, one production node, three relay nodes, two backup servers on standby. Our servers running the Shelley production and relay nodes are located in several different geographic locales: Toronto (Canada), London (Great Britain), and Stockholm (Sweeden).

Our Mission

OUR PRIMARY OBEJCTIVES

Security, Profitability and Consistency.

Security is paramount! Not only our own node setups but, more importantly, the security of the consensus mechanism of Cardano. If this does not work all the rest of our mission statement below has no consequence.

Profitability first for our delegates! We can only accomplish our final goals if our delegates are incentivized by profits from their ADA to support us.

Consistency. This means we have to keep working at it. The network evolves and we have to be there to evolve with it.

OUR SECONDARY (AND ULTIMATE) OBEJCTIVES

Take some but give most of it back to something worthy.

It is our mission to help secure and support the network with hundreds of other stake pool operators. The more of us the more the network strengthens, responds to scale, and speeds up transactions. We choose to operate our servers in data centers that choose environmentally friendly sources of energy to power their operations. However, we do all of this for a better and higher purpose than our own financial security needs. We endeavour to achieve as a final consequence the following:

• Further the income generation of our delegates to be as far above as possible the average across the Cardano network by developing apps and products on top of the Cardano blockchain.
• Reinvesting the ADA earned by our operations to the pledge amounts after deducting the costs to operate.
• After achieving the preliminary objectives above we intend to reinvest the excess revenue into two or more pools whose sole purpose would be the accumulation of funds to support two areas of animal conservation:
  1. Saving the Rhino from extinction in Africa; and
  2. The re-establishment of bird life sanctuaries and habitat in Southern Australia after the devastation caused by the recent wild fires.

About

The Genesis

The idea for our pool being called "Bladarunner" comes from a specific scene in the original Bladerunner movie from the 1980's. Deckard (the main character) uncovers a snake skin scale and has it inspected at a market that engineers android animals. He mistakenly takes the snake skin scale to a piscatorial developer. She inspects the scale under a microscopic device and reads a serial number to identify the manufacturer. This serial number, in my opinion, should've been interpreted as a cryptographic address, had Ridely Scott, or any of the the "makers" of the film, known anything about blockchain back in the 1980's.

Moreover, the sci-fi punk, and noir themes of the film make it so compatible with the energy of "cypherpunk" and the cryptographic community today.

The Person

My name is Jorge Pascoal and have been involved in IT from the early 2000's. I initially created a company focused specifically on the creation and development of web sites, which then developed into the creation of our own e-commerce, web hosting and consulting businesses. I live in Portugal and have been there since 1993, but am originally from South Africa

Provided below is a very short resume:

• Trained in electronic surveillance and network intelligence in the South African Defence Force
• Establishment of the first e-commerce site with secure server credentials in Portugal
• Web hosting operations for third parties during the intial phase of our company
• Web consulting work for Bank Santander (Portugal)
• Mentoring of staff that would go on to work for Google and other companies
• Acquisition and operations in real estate from 2004 to 2011
• Currently continue to develop and take part in web e-commerce
• Started acquiring skills for cryptocurrency in 2016 and have never left that since
• Invested in Cardano in 2017
• Speak English, Portuguese, Afrikaans, and a little Spanish, and a little Dutch. Can also understand conversational (non-technical) German, French and Italian.
• Studied Journalism at the University of South Africa
